Spread the Word and Make Your Voice Heard

Spread the word

Thank you for your partnership and support of Aspire! We’ve put together this toolkit with resources you can use to advocate for Aspire and speak out in support of AmeriCorps and out-of-school time programs.

If you have questions, please contact Aspire’s Communications and Development Manager, Maggie McCoy, at maggie@aspireafterschool.org

For media/press inquiries, please contact Aspire’s Executive Director, Paula Fynboh, at paula@aspireafterschool.org or 202-813-2140.

Share Aspire’s updates:

Read Aspire’s updates about AmeriCorps funding cuts and our plans moving forward. You can send this link to people you know to help raise awareness about what’s going on and inspire them to get involved.

Call your elected officials:

Voices for National Service has a great simple call script and instructions. This is an important way to share more about your personal experience with AmeriCorps as an alumni, supporter, or program partner.

You can also call in support of 21st Century Learning Centers (21CCLC) funding using Afterschool Alliance’s call script. Aspire leverages a variety of funding sources to run our program at no cost for our students. 21CCLC funding is part of both our current funding portfolio and future growth. This funding, which provides nearly 1.4 million kids across America with a safe place to go after school, is currently eliminated in the President’s education budget proposal.

Email your representatives:

Email your Members of Congress in less than two minutes using Voices for National Service’s Contact Congress email tool.

You can also email your Members of Congress and urge them to sustain funding like 21CCLC for afterschool and summer programs using Afterschool Alliance’s email tool.
