Maria A. Martínez Bustamante moved to Arlington from Colombia in 2016. She has a background in nutrition education, sustainability, and strategic communications. She brings more than seven years of experience developing programs that connect health, environment, and community learning. As a part-time Classroom Instructor with Aspire Afterschool Learning, Maria integrates creative, hands-on activities that teach students about teamwork, and caring for their environment. She has worked in international development, including a school meals program. Her approach blends science, storytelling, and leadership to help students discover their strengths and build confidence. Maria is passionate about empowering the next generation to make healthy, sustainable choices for themselves and their communities.
