AmeriCorps Volunteers

The Learning ROCKS! and Parent Connection programs are also supported by 13 full-time AmeriCorps*State direct service volunteers.   AmeriCorps Members focus on increasing capacity to better serve children each day after school in a way that is well-aligned with school priorities, strengthening the community’s stability and access to resources, and improving learning outcomes and social-emotional development of students.  This is done through direct service, tutoring children, implementing afterschool activities, helping schools, and developing monthly family programming for low-moderate income residences. Corps members serve for one year, and are recruited during the spring and summer months.
